Essential Information
Do I need a permit?
If you’re planning to place the skip on your own private land, you won’t need a permit.
If you intend to have it situated on a road or on other public land, you’ll probably need a permit. We have to apply for the permit on your behalf as it’s only skip companies that can apply for permits. Contact us for free advice to find out more.
1. General
The owner accepts no responsibility for any damage caused by placing the skip on the hirer’s property at the instructions of the hirer.
There is to be no fire inside or near the skip.
The hirer is to protect the equipment from theft and damage, until the point of collection.
The owner reserves the right to charge wasted journey fees dependent on vehicle and distance travelled for circumstances mentioned below.
It is the responsibility of the hirer to provide accurate descriptions regarding placement of the skip. If the hirer is unhappy with the placement of the skip or there are access problems when placing the skip, a wasted journey fee will be applied.
Skips should not be repositioned under any circumstances unless agreed by the owner.

Extension charges are £25 per extra week.
The hirer must inform the Owner 24 hours before collection of the equipment is required.

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the skip lights are present and working and to inform the Owner in the event of any problems with the skip lights.
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the skip is not unknowingly placed on the public highway. Any charges incurred from the driver being misled regarding the placement of the skip will be the hirer’s responsibility.
4. Skip Contents
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the skip is not overloaded, and waste is not higher than the side of the skips. The driver shall decide whether overloading has taken place. If overloading has taken place, all costs incurred will be the responsibility of the hirer, including disposal rates and wasted journey fees.
